Gadi Pollack has extended his story-telling gift to the Purim holiday with this fabulously illustrated Book of Esther. The events in the Book of Esther are presented in the light of Midrashic sources (noted at the end of the book), with the addition of humorous details and whimsical touches in the spirit of the traditional Purim play, known as a “shpiel“. Included is the full text of the story (Megillah) in Hebrew with English translation, from the Margolin Edition of the Torah.
Each page is alive with unforgettable characters, endless action, and a good dose of important background information on the timeline and background of the Purim story. This magical megillah is wonderful for children, but its sophisticated humor and intricate detail will keep teenagers and adults riveted.
