The best books get more wear and tear, right?
Since we’re promoting the best Jewish kids books, we imagine that a lot of these books are going to need repair.
Three tips for book care:
- An ounce of prevention: Teach the kids to turn pages from the corner. Most tears happen because they are turning from close to the spine.
- Inexpensive yet effective: Use high-quality transparent tape (“magic tape”) on the pages. When you see a page is starting to wear or tear, time to tape up the entire bottom side of that page. It takes a bit longer, but will make the book last much longer. For the cover, including corners and spine, use heavy-duty packing tape.
- For a more professional approach: Check out the Demco how-to videos here and click the link to the right for cloth bookbinding tape.
