This book is a retelling in verse of the Biblical story about the survival of Noah, his family, and animals during forty days and nights of rain. Most of the details are consistent with the Torah account (e.g., depicting the ark with three levels).
Perhaps the most important feature of this book is the illustrations: all are vibrantly colored, sculpted Plasticine illustrations that create an amazing 3-D effect. The illustrations are quite clever and varied (for instance, one scene shows a birds-eye view of Noah catching the first drops of rain in his palm. The rhyming story is told with humor ("…even the boa felt constricted.") A worthy candidate for any Jewish book collection.
